Joao Felix has once again been heavily criticised in the Italian media following another poor performance on Thursday night.
The on-loan AC Milan star was anonymous during his side’s 2-1 defeat to Bologna as the Rossoneri suffered their second consecutive Serie A loss, leaving them languishing down in eighth place in the Italian top flight standings.
Felix joined Milan on loan from Chelsea during the January transfer window, but his form has been largely abject since scoring a delicate chip on his debut for the club.

The Portugal international has failed to provide a goal or an assist in six appearances since his debut, despite starting every game, and criticism reached an all-time high following his below par performance versus Bologna.
Corriere della Sera described Felix as “a disaster”, adding that Portugal star was “the worst on the pitch, who is neither seen nor heard. He never makes a move, even his teammates avoid him.”
La Repubblica (as per AS) claimed he is “hiding”, while MilanNews stated: “Joao Felix is unseemly. It is clear that he enjoys a kind of immunity from substitution despite his poor performances on a qualitative level. Worse than him is the one who keeps him on the pitch [Sergio Conceicao].”
Felix has already openly admitted that he wants to join Milan on a permanent deal once his loan spell at the club ends this summer, although it remains to be seen if the Serie A giants will submit an offer deemed acceptable by Chelsea.

Joao Felix at Chelsea
Felix rejoined Chelsea on a permanent deal in August, following a loan stint at the club in 2023, but he was unable to displace Cole Palmer in Enzo Maresca’s preferred starting XI upon his return to west London.
The 25-year-old only started three Premier League matches during the first half of the campaign, with a large share of his minutes coming in the Europa Conference League, and he pushed to secure an exit during the winter transfer window.
Felix is expected to depart Chelsea this summer, but his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has fallen to below €40m, so the Blues may be forced to accept a cut-price offer.
