Chelsea join Man Utd in race to sign RB Leipzig star

Chelsea could compete with Manchester United to secure the services of RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande this summer.

The Ivory Coast international signed for the Bundesliga outfit from Leganes last summer, and he has already made a big impression.

The 19-year-old has 14 goal contributions thus far. His progress has been closely monitored by scouts from different European sides.

United are one of the clubs weighing up a summer approach, but they could face competition from the Blues for the winger’s services.

Leipzig are aware of the ever-increasing interest in the attacker. Bayern Munich are likewise keeping tabs on the talented forward.

The German giants are expected to hold out for at least £87m for Diomande, though the initial fee could be slightly lesser.

United have a good relationship with Leipzig, having signed Benjamin Sesko last summer, and could have an edge over their rivals.

Diomande has also been linked with Arsenal in recent weeks. The Gunners see him as a potential replacement for Leandro Trossard.
