Chelsea and Liverpool could compete with Newcastle United to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike this summer, according to Sky Germany.
The Magpies recently made an opening bid worth €80 million for the Frenchman, but it was immediately rejected by the Bundesliga outfit.
Eintracht want €100m on the table for the talented marksman, and they are adamant that the price tag won’t change for the rest of the window.
Eddie Howe‘s side are expected to return with a fresh proposal, but they are now poised to face fierce competition from the Blues and the Reds.
Chelsea have just won the Club World Cup in the United States and they are expected to go on a big spending spree over the next few weeks.
Liverpool have also spent plenty during the summer and they are still keen on landing a marquee striker with Darwin Nunez expected to depart.
Nunez is attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League and he is widely anticipated to head for the exit door before the end of the month.
