Chelsea are trying to radically slim down their squad before August 30.
Transfer Deadline Day is rapidly approaching, with the Premier League window set to shut an hour before midnight BST on August 30. It has been another ridiculous summer at Stamford Bridge and the number of Chelsea’s recruits has entered double digits once more.
This approach to transfer business has come under heavy scrutiny as results on the pitch have proved elusive and Jamie Carragher may have just launched the most scathing tirade against the Blues yet.

This comes amid talk of Chelsea still trying to sign Joao Felix, Gabriel Mec, Mike Penders and Victor Osimhen – or another striker. To balance the books, outgoings need to happen sooner rather than later.
According to The Athletic, as many as 15 players could still leave Chelsea before the end of the window.
Chelsea’s list of unwanted players
Fan favourites Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah are two of the players the Blues are looking to shift. The former’s exit is all but confirmed, with the 24-year-old heading to Atletico Madrid in what is an unofficial swap deal with the aforementioned Felix.
Chalobah, meanwhile, is being actively forced out of the club, as are Romelu Lukaku, Armando Broja, Ben Chilwell and now also Raheem Sterling. The world’s most expensive goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, has no future at the club, while last season’s No.1 Djordje Petrovic is expected to leave following the arrival of Filip Jorgensen.

Carney Chukwuemeka, a player linked with Barcelona and Crystal Palace, will be allowed to leave the club on loan, but only if an obligation to buy is included.
Striker David Datro Fofana and midfielder Cesare Casadei could leave the club after loans last season, though the latter has been offered a ‘reprieve’ by Lesley Ugochukwu’s temporary move to Southampton and may be allowed to remain in west London.
Academy graduate Bashir Humphreys is on the verge of joining Burnley on loan with the move made permanent next year. Alex Matos has suitors, but Chelsea would prefer for him to go out on loan rather than leave permanently. The same applies to youngsters Leo Castledine and Harvey Vale.
