Fermin Lopez has emerged as a target for Chelsea as we head into the Premier League transfer deadline week, with the Barca 22-year-old winger rumoured to be top of manager Enzo Maresca‘s wish list. Fermin made his debut for Barcelona in 2023 and has now appeared in 60 top flight games, scoring 14 goals, and seen as one of the brightest prospects at the Camp Nou.
The Blues are still hoping to bring in at least one more winger before the transfer window closes, with Christopher Nkunku likely to return to his former club RB Leipzig, generating funds to make an approach for Fermin.
Barcelona have made it clear that they wish to keep the youngster, but should a transfer fee of 80 million euros be agreed, it is likely the Spanish club will be forced to sell.
Barcelona have their own financial concerns, as they are constrainted by Financial Fair Play, and do need to sell players.
Chelsea are also hopeful that deals can be agreed to sign Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho, both long-term targets the Stamford Bridge outfit.
