Chelsea are reportedly open to selling summer signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall just months after his arrival from Leicester City.

The 26-year-old followed Enzo Maresca from the King Power Stadium in July, with Chelsea spending €35.4 million to bring him to west London.

However, he has struggled for game time so far this season, racking up just 582 minutes of action across all competitions since the start of the 2024-25 campaign.

Dewsbury-Hall has also been excluded from Chelsea’s matchday squad in five of their last six Premier League fixtures and he appears unlikely to force his way into contention for a starting spot amid competition from Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Enzo Fernandez.

As a result, the Blues are now willing to listen to offers for the ex-Leicester man, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Chelsea are eager to recoup the entirety of the fee they paid to sign Dewsbury-Hall during the summer, and Aston Villa have reportedly expressed their interest in purchasing him in 2025.

However, Unai Emery’s side are currently exploring the possibility of a loan deal, with the Villa Park outfit open to including a €15m option to buy, plus a further €7m in add-ons.

Enzo Maresca on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

In September, Maresca was asked about Dewsbury-Hall’s lack of involvement since his summer move to Stamford Bridge and the Italian was eager to brush off any concerns about the 26-year-old.

“I’m very happy with Kiernan,” Maresca said. “We need to understand that Kiernan was the main player at Leicester. He arrived here now and he’s not the main player, now he’s one of the players. For him, and any player in the world, you need to adapt mentally.

“You go from: ‘Okay, I’m the main player here [at Leicester]’ to being one of the players. That period requires a bit of time where you understand that and adapt [to] that.

“Sure, when you play for five, 10, 15 minutes, it’s not easy. It’s not easy for Kiernan or the rest of the players. You need a bit of time to understand that kind of situation where it’s different to the previous one, where you were the main player.

“It’s just a matter of adapting a little bit. But overall, I don’t have any doubts about Kiernan.”
