Chelsea are reportedly set to rival Arsenal in the race to sign Aston Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara this summer.

The Frenchman has enjoyed a sublime season at Villa Park, following the departure of Douglas Luiz to Juventus last year, and his form has attracted the attention of multiple top clubs across Europe.

That is according to TBR Football, who claim that Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are among the Premier League teams keeping tabs on Kamara’s situation at Aston Villa, while Serie A giants Inter are also interested in acquiring his services during the upcoming summer transfer window.

However, Villa are preparing a “historic” contract offer for Kamara, as per reports in France, as they look to tie him down to a new long-term deal at the club in order to ward off suitors.

Kamara has two years remaining on his current contract with Unai Emery’s side, but he is reportedly eager to play Champions League football next season, which could mean he may push to leave Villa Park if a suitable bid arrives.

Ollie Watkins to leave Aston Villa?

In addition to Kamara, Aston Villa may also lose Ollie Watkins this summer as Arsenal continue to monitor his situation in the Midlands.

The Gunners failed with a late bid for the England international during the January transfer window and although they have seemingly shifted their focus onto completing a deal for Viktor Gyokeres, Watkins remains of interest to the Arsenal hierarchy.

The Englishman is now 29 years old and while Villa will be reluctant to sell following the departure of Jhon Duran to Saudi Arabia in January, Emery’s side could potentially be open to a move if they receive a huge offer.

Watkins’ Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at just over €60m, although Aston Villa may demand a fee in excess of that figure if they are to accept a sale this summer.
