23 players left Chelsea in the summer transfer window, but the Blues are still keen on offloading many more.

It was another crazy window at Stamford Bridge with double-digit arrivals and departures moving to and from west London. Chelsea again spent big and even made a splash on Deadline Day by securing the signing of Jadon Sancho from Man Utd.

Though they did miss out on top target Victor Osimhen, Chelsea bolstered many other areas of the pitch, though whether this will lead to improved performances remains to be seen.

On the outgoing front, Chelsea sold or loaned a whole host of unwanted players, chief among them the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Ian Maatsen and Conor Gallagher. Raheem Sterling, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Trevoh Chalobah departed on loan.

Yet, some windows remain open in Europe and the Middle East and Chelsea are still looking to sell or loan several players.

Chelsea’s new ‘Bomb Squad’?

As many as seven could still depart Stamford Bridge, though Chelsea learned the hard way over the course of the window that selling isn’t as easy as it seems. Moreover, Chelsea face the problem, given the sheer size of their squad, that they only have two more international loan spots remaining.

Earlier this summer, the phrase ‘Bomb Squad’ was coined to describe the Blues’ outcasts who were forced to train away from the first team to get them to leave the club.

And there could now be a new ‘Bomb Squad’ with the likes of David Datro Fofana, Angelo Gabriel, Deivid Washington, Alex Matos, Cesare Casadei, Lucas Bergstrom and Harvey Vale all candidates to still depart if suitors can be found.

Clubs in Turkey, Greece, the Netherlands, Portugal and Saudi Arabia can still do business for a few more days and Chelsea are determined to further reduce the size of their squad.
