Leicester City goalkeeper Mads Hermansen enjoyed a sensational transfer audition against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon amid rumours of a potential reunion with Enzo Maresca.
Hermansen moved to the King Power Stadium for €7.7 million in 2023, with Maresca bringing him to the club, and he helped Leicester achieve promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking last year.

Since the Foxes’ promotion, they have struggled to adapt to life in the top flight of English football and they are destined to secure an immediate return back to the Championship.
Hermansen, however, has been a rare bright spark for Leicester and he has been tipped to secure a big-money transfer during the 2025 summer window following an impressive debut campaign in the Premier League.
Chelsea are among the clubs reportedly interested in signing Hermansen, with Maresca eager to complete a deal for the 24-year-old amid the struggles of both Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen this season.

While the Blues have made the surprise decision to avoid signing a new goalkeeper in 2025, according to multiple reports, Hermansen’s performance for Leicester on Sunday will have left the Chelsea hierarchy very impressed.

A Marc Cucurella strike helped Chelsea secure a narrow 1-0 win over Leicester at Stamford Bridge, however the Blues will once again be concerned by their lack of cutting edge.
Maresca’s side took a total of 20 shots against the Foxes, but they faced an inspired Hermansen, who made seven saves in the game, including a memorable stop from a Cole Palmer penalty.
The Danish goalkeeper guessed correctly and sprung to his left to parry Palmer’s first-half penalty away, with the England star’s 100% record from the spot vanishing into thin air thanks to the Leicester shot-stopper.
Hermansen’s display in between the sticks at Stamford Bridge won’t have gone unnoticed by those in charge in west London, especially considering the mistakes made by both Sanchez and Jorgensen this season, and a pursuit could be on the cards this summer.
