Victor Osimhen‘s agent has posted a surprise social media statement in response to Al-Ahli’s attempts to pry the striker away from Napoli.

Mail Sport revealed that Chelsea face competition for Osimhen from the Saudi Arabian club who submitted a £55million bid for the Nigerian forward.

The Blues have been keen on the Napoli man all summer as they look to further bolster their attack and a loan with an obligation to buy is the Premier League side’s preferred deal.

However, it has been reported by RMC Sport, that Osimhen is not thrilled by the idea of joining the Blues, while it also appears the 25-year-old is set to reject any further approach from Al-Ahli or any Saudi Arabian club.

Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has posted a statement on social media app X both criticising Napoli and indicating that the player’s future lies in Europe.

Calenda wrote: ‘Osimhen is a Napoli player, with a contract recently renewed with mutual satisfaction.

‘He made history and when there were major offers (also this year) we always accepted the club’s decisions. As I said, he is not a package to be shipped far away to make room for new prophets.

‘Victor was elected African footballer of the year, eighth at the Ballon d’Or, he still has so much to do in Europe. There needs to be respect and balance.’

Napoli put a £113m release clause in the contract, however, no club has shown signs of meeting such a high price tag.

Romelu Lukaku is set to head to Napoli, to reunite with his former boss Antonio Conte, after a deal worth £26m plus £12m has been agreed.

The Belgian striker’s move could pave the way for Osimhen to go in the other direction, but there seems to be a way to go before a potential deal could be struck.

Chelsea have already made five additions at the top of the pitch since Enzo Maresca’s arrival in the dugout.

However, the Argentine is said to be interested in bringing in more firepower with a striker at the top of his list.

Osimhen signed for Napoli in 2020 and he has scored 76 goals in 133 games in all competitions for the Italian giants.
