Chelsea could reportedly be offered the chance to sign Paris Saint-germain forward Randal Kolo Muani in exchange for Christopher Nkunku.

Nkunku, 27, joined the Blues from RB Leipzig last summer, but he endured an injury-hit debut campaign at Stamford Bridge and he has found game time hard to come by this season.

The France international has only started one Premier League match in 2024-25, with the bulk of his minutes coming in the Europa Conference League.

Nkunku is currently Chelsea’s top goalscorer in all competitions, but he remains behind Nicolas Jackson in the pecking order and he has been tipped to leave the club in 2025 amid his lack of regular football and interest from multiple top European clubs.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Nkunku in recent weeks, but a return to PSG currently appears to be his most likely next step if he decides to leave Chelsea.

Luis Enrique’s side are reportedly prioritising a deal for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, however they are interested in bringing Nkunku back to the club in 2025.

Furthermore, PSG have floated the idea of including the aforementioned Kolo Muani in a swap deal bid for Nkunku, according to TBR Football.

Kolo Muani has been told that he is not in Enrique’s long-term plans at the Parc des Princes and Chelsea have been informed that a swap deal could be on the cards in 2025 if they are open to such an agreement.

What has Enzo Maresca said?

In early November, Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca addressed Nkunku’s lack of game time so far this season following rumours that he could push to leave the club next year.

“Christo, every time he plays, he scores, and he does well,” Maresca told reporters.

“Also, he was probably our best player in pre-season, no doubt. He was playing then as an attacking midfielder and now we are using him as a nine, which we all know isn’t his position, he’s more a second striker or between the lines.

“But I try to find a solution and balance with all of them but not all of them can be in their position, they have to adapt a bit.

“It’s for Joao [Felix], Christo, Misha [Mudryk], they are all players who deserve more chances in the Premier League, but there are also more players who deserve that.”
