Chelsea have signed young defender Mamadou Sarr from sister club Strasbourg for €20 million.
The 19-year-old will be assessed at the Club World Cup and potentially sent out on loan after the tournament.
Former teammate Emanuel Emegha is expected to follow him to Stamford Bridge, albeit in 2026.
Osimhen decision influences Sancho future
Victor Osimhen has rejected a transfer to Al-Hilal, and his decision could influence the future of Jadon Sancho after his Chelsea loan.
The former England international was sent back to Man Utd after the Blues failed to agree terms with him.

Chelsea’s interest in Alejandro Garnacho has been confirmed after last week’s reports that three unnamed English clubs were keen on him.
The Blues have been eyeing a transfer of the Argentine since January, when he was first made available by Man Utd.
Garnacho is expected to be cheaper this summer, but Chelsea appear to be prioritising Jamie Gittens.
Chelsea to make new Maignan offer
Chelsea are still in talks with AC Milan over goalkeeper Mike Maignan after having an opening bid rejected.
The Blues want to sign the Frenchman in time for the Club World Cup and need to wrap up this deal by Tuesday.
Chelsea are expected to make a fresh bid for the 29-year-old imminently.
Bettinelli set for Man City
Third-choice Chelsea goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli is set to join Man City.
The shot-stopper will replace Scott Carson, whose contract expires at the end of June.
Bettinelli is still under contract at Chelsea until 2026, so the Blues will be due a transfer fee.
Leeds make Diarra bid
Leeds have made a €26 million offer for Strasbourg midfielder Habib Diarra.
Last year, BlueCo rejected two offers for the 21-year-old as he was earmarked to become a future Chelsea star.
It remains to be seen if Strasbourg will accept Leeds’ offer for their club captain.
