Drewes will become Dortmund’s third-choice goalkeeper going into the 2025-26 campaign.

As rumours circulated at the start of the week regarding Patrick Drewes’ move to Borussia Dortmund, confirmation was announced today.

The veteran shot-stopper has officially penned a deal with Die Schwarzgelben until 2027 as Bochum pocket around €300,000.

It has been reported that Bochum didn’t stand in the way of the 34-year-old’s desire to join the Black and Yellows:

“After learning of BVB’s interest and having discussions with those in charge, it became clear to me that I wanted to make the move to Dortmund.

“I want to contribute my part to our success as a team through my performance in daily training, and I’m looking forward to being part of one of the biggest clubs in Europe,” he said.

Prior to signing for BVB, Drewes represented a host of clubs including Wolfsburg, Würzburger Kickers, Sandhausen, Karlsruhe and Bochum.
