CONFIRMED: Trent Alexander-Arnold agrees Real Madrid move

Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly reached a final agreement to join Real Madrid on a free transfer when his Liverpool contract expires in July.

The England international has been tipped to join Los Blancos on a Bosman deal for over a year and the Spanish giants have now reached a complete agreement with his representatives.

That is according to Sky Sports reporter Sacha Tavolieri, who has revealed that Alexander-Arnold’s move to the Santiago Bernabeu is now “settled.”

The 26-year-old has agreed personal terms with Carlo Ancelotti’s side, while he is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Spanish giants.

The move has been described as a “done deal”, with Alexander-Arnold confirmed to be joining Real Madrid in July.

Liverpool have reportedly attempted to convince the England international to sign a new long-term deal at Anfield, however their efforts have fallen on deaf ears as Alexander-Arnold has set his sights on becoming a Real Madrid player.

Alexander-Arnold will become the sixth English player to join Real Madrid in their illustrious history, following Laurie Cunningham, Steve McManaman, David Beckham, Michael Owen, Jonathan Woodgate and Jude Bellingham.

He is expected to compete with Dani Carvajal for a starting berth in the Spanish capital, although Alexander-Arnold is likely to start the new season as the club’s preferred right-back.

The Liverpool defender will leave Anfield after a 21-year association with the club, and the Reds are set to challenge for Jeremie Frimpong’s signature as they look to sign the Bayer Leverkusen star as Alexander-Arnold’s replacement.

The Englishman has made 349 first-team appearances for his boyhood club, scoring 22 goals, providing 87 assists and winning eight trophies, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €53.4 million.
