Conor Benn left Chis Eubank Jr’s promoter, Ben Shalom, scrambling after pretending to lunge at him at the rivals’ final press conference.

Benn and Eubank Jr will finally go head to head at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 26, and have been on a press conference tour over the last week that turned sour as early as Tuesday.

In Manchester, Eubank Jr turned things up a notch when he smashed an egg across his rival’s face, triggering a melee and the cancellation of the seated face-off, which was supposed to happen on Wednesday.

The second and final press conference, however, did take place on Thursday as planned, with Eubank Jr scanned by an ‘egg detector’ as he entered the room and insisting he has no regrets over his actions.

While there were no blows thrown this time around, there were plenty of verbals exchanged, including between promoters with Eddie Hearn and Eubank Jr clashing, as well as Shalom and Benn.

Benn and Shalom exchanged words on the pitch as both parties headed out for photos, and it ended with Benn jokingly lunging at the promoter.

After initially looking to protect himself, Shalom saw the funny side of things alongside rival promoter Eddie Hearn

Benn had once again clashed with Eubank Jr during the press conference in north London

While the audio was not played, Benn and Shalom had exchanged words from a distance before Benn was taken away by his father, Nigel – who Eubank Jr had threatened earlier in the night.

The two teams were then taken their separate ways, before Benn headed back in the opposite direction and pretended to lunge at his rival’s promoter.

Shalom flinched, put his hand out, but realised early on that it was a joke and saw the funny side of things.

He also shared a joke with Hearn, two days after the two had got physical during Tuesday’s melee. 

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Hearn appeared to push Shalom in the incident.

Hearn was later held back by a member of security but as Shalom rounded on him, strained against them in a bid to continue the confrontation.

The two promoters are no strangers to conflict between themselves, with Hearn previously claiming that Shalom has ‘aspired to be (him) forever’ adding that he is ‘Eddie Hearn from Wish’.

Hearn also shared that he believed a joke he made threatening to knock Shalom out saw the promoter turn ‘white like Caspar the Ghost’.

Eubank Jr, meanwhile, told Nigel Benn: ‘You did put your hand on my neck. I’m going to give you a pass because of what happened. 

‘I’m just letting you know that if your hand ever touches me again, you won’t get it back.’

Benn had appeared to grab his son’s rival by the throat, suggesting that he thought he had ‘glassed’ his son in the moment.

That prompted an immediate reaction from Conor Benn who shouted out ‘Shut your f***ing mouth. Threaten my dad again and watch what happens to you.’
