Couto to Dortmund fans: “You haven’t seen the best version of me yet”

Here’s what Yan Couto had to say about his personal experiences as a Dortmund player to date.

Speaking to Funke Sport about his time with Borussia Dortmund to date, Yan Couto gave a critical yet honest review of his performance.

The right-sided Brazilian playmaker detailed the struggles he endured and wanted to remind fans they haven’t witnessed his true form to date.

“I knew that the first season wouldn’t be easy, and I also knew that I wouldn’t be at my best straight away. A new country, a different language, I was injured twice… 

“I knew it would be difficult when I came back [from injury] because the team was already in full flow.

“Now it’s about training a lot, enjoying every day and doing my best. If you give your best every day, you also get the chance to show why Dortmund signed me.

“The fans haven’t seen the best version of me yet and I want to show that in the coming season,” the 32-year-old added.
