Crystal Palace and Wolves enquire about Birmingham City midfielder Jordan James with Championship club teenager valued at £10m

Crystal Palace and Wolves have asked about Birmingham City midfielder Jordan James, 19. 

Atalanta had an offer around £3million rejected for James who Birmingham value at £10m. 

James has been one of the few Blues players to impress during what has been a turbulent campaign that saw Wayne Rooney sacked after just 15 games in charge.

The 19-year-old was used primarily from the bench at the start of the season but has started eight of Birmingham’s last nine Championship games.

The Welshman has six goals to his name in 14 starts in this second tier of English football this term.

James, who started Saturday’s FA Cup defeat to Leicester, is a key player for the Blues

The central midfielder, who has been on the books at Birmingham since 2012, has already made 89 appearances for the club despite still being in his teens. 

He is also a member of the Welsh national team, making his senior debut in March of last year and receiving seven caps since. 

Palace, who are signing right-back Daniel Munoz from Genk, are also considering a new bid for Blackburn’s Adam Wharton.
