Crystal Palace are pondering a revised bid for Blackburn Rovers midfielder Adam Wharton.

Palace saw an offer around £18.5m rejected on Thursday and Rovers asked to keep Wharton on loan.

Rovers manager Jon Dahl Tomasson said: ‘There’s been an offer and the club has said no, which I like.’

The 19-year-old, who has been at the club since the age of six, signed a deal in December which will keep him at Blackburn until the end of the 2027-28 season.

Having made his senior debut back in August 2022, Wharton has gone on to make 51 senior appearances for the club, featuring in all but two of their Championship matches this season, returning two goals.

Wharton has also attracted the attention of several other Premier League clubs, including Everton, Newcastle and Tottenham

Tomasson has previously lumped praise on the midfielder, stating: ‘He can do things that nobody sees before. He can play under pressure, one touch, and has great vision.’

The Blackburn academy graduate, who made his debut for England’s U20 side in November against Italy, has also been described as the next best English prospect outside of the top flight by Blackburn’s director of football Gregg Broughton.

Wharton signed a contract extension back in December that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2027-28 season

Palace are also eyeing up a move for Genk right-back Daniel Munoz, who is valued at £10m

Palace remain in contact with Genk for right-back Daniel Munoz who is refusing to train in an effort to force through a move to Selhurst Park.

Roy Hodgson’s side had opened talks to sign the Colombian earlier this month, with the Belgian club valuing him at £10m.

Mail Sport understands the Eagles are not deterred by that figure, with the 27-year-old’s contract also set to expire later this summer.

Munoz arrived at the club in 2020 and this season has returned five goals across 17 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League.
