Crystal Palace have reportedly rejected an offer from Tottenham Hotspur for star centre back Marc Guehi.

Palace had already turned down four bids from Newcastle United in the summer, including one worth more than £65million.

According to The Athletic, Spurs tabled an offer over the weekend to sign Guehi on a permanent deal but it was swiftly knocked back.

That offer was understood to be worth £70m.

Both Newcastle and Spurs are expected to try again before the start of next season to sign the 24-year-old – who has been capped 22 times by England since 2022.

Guehi has started 23 of Palace’s 24 Premier League games this season, including Sunday’s 2-0 away win at Manchester United.

His current contract at Selhurst Park is due to expire in June 2026.

Tottenham are keen to land another defender before the transfer deadline, despite having already added Austria international Kevin Danso.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has had to cope for much of this season without star centre backs Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero.

Van de Ven recently returned from his hamstring injury, only for fellow centre back Radu Dragusin to suffer a serious knee problem.

Tottenham had agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign Axel Disasi but the player turned down a move to north London.
