Everton manager David Moyes tells Sky Sports: “The players have reacted well. It has been a dream start coming in and winning so many games. Starting to look more healthy in the Premier League. I hope it will be the case, ultimately I am thinking we still have to get enough points. It has been a brilliant start, it was a good win for us today, really scrappy.

“They showed great resilience and won at a difficult place against a team who have been improving.”

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner tells Sky Sports: “It is frustrating today and similar to the defeat against Brentford. The game was exactly how we expected it and then of course when we concede such goals, it is hard. We had two or three chances and the first half was quite equal. We gave them this kind of goal, had a great reaction and then it was up and down. It was a set play again when we can’t clear it and that is why we lost. The players tried everything and we had a big effort. It is not so easy to score against them. We had some opportunities but we didn’t have the efficiency today.”

Everton defender James Tarkowski tells Sky Sports: “We knew it was going to be tough today – low on numbers and with all the emotions of Wednesday. We had quality when we needed and we defended well late on.”

On the impact of David Moyes, he added: “Since the manager has come in we have definitely improved. I don’t think we were great today but we took our opportunities. We are still working to get better. On a day like today, we stuck at it and got the win.”

Everton striker Beto tells Sky Sports: “I am playing with more confidence and joy. We are playing better football and the team is confident. We want to win every game. Today we deserved to win and it is like this.”

Everton have leapfrogged both Tottenham and Manchester United in the Premier League table and now sit 13th.

It leaves United in 14th and Spurs in 15th. Tomorrow’s grudge match between the two sides is going to be huge.

90+5 min: Wharton manages to get onto the end of a loose ball and Palace press forward. It eventually falls to Nketiah, who looks to cross, but Tarkowski blocks.

90+4 min: Glasner shakes his head as he leans against the home dugout. He seemingly thinks this game is over…

90+2 min: A long pass is sent over to Beto. Richards looks to shield him away but the striker stays in possession. Palace are eventually able to win the ball back and push forward.

90 min: Six minutes have been added on…

86 min: Palace also make two changes as Eddie Nketiah replaces Hughes and Lacroix makes way for Daichi Kamada.

Nketiah joins Mateta up front as Palace seek an equaliser.

85 min: Another change for Everton as Alcaraz, who may well have just scored the winner, is replaced by Tim Iroegbunam.

81 min: Crystal Palace fail to clear their lines as a shot is deflected out by Chilwell. Everton appeal for a handball as Young goes for goal. The ball deflects out again, but Alcaraz can eventually fire it into the bottom-right corner!

79 min: David Moyes makes his first substitution as Lindstrøm is replaced by Ashley Young.

77 min: Wharton loses possession to Gueye on the edge of his own penalty area and Beto pounces on the loose ball. He looks to shoot, but instead fires his effort across the six-yard box. The linesman eventually puts his flag up and Palace have a free kick.

75 min: Around 15 minutes left to play now and David Moyes is yet to make a change. We could see Everton begin to experience some tired legs soon, especially given the intensity of Wednesday’s derby.

73 min: Beto wins the ball from Hughes in a relatively dangerous position and looks to break forward, forcing a challenge from Guehi who puts the ball out for a throw-in.

71 min: Chilwell receives a diagonal ball on the left and goes for a low-driven shot. Pickford isn’t quite sure if it’s on target but makes the save anyway, pushing the effort behind for a corner.

69 min: The ball drops to Sarr in a defensive position and Gueye looks to get it off him, but the Everton midfielder instead gives away a free kick.

67 min: Eze breaks down the left with pace, leading the Crystal Palace counter attack. However, Garner clatters into the back of him. The Everton man receives the first yellow card of the match and the hosts have a free kick.

64 min: Eze does incredibly well to get himself out of a tricky position on the left, cutting inside before switching to Muńoz. The wing-back goes for goal, but fails to hit the target with his effort.

62 min: Alcaraz attempts to catch Guehi out in defence but instead fouls the defender and Palace have a free kick.

59 min: Another change for Palace as Mitchell makes way for January loan signing Ben Chilwell.

57 min: Another chance for Everton! Lindstrøm makes another run down the right before passing inside to Beto. The striker goes for goal first time but fires his effort straight at Henderson from close range.

54 min: Huge chance for Everton! The ball is sent to Lindstrøm in the box, who cuts inside before going for goal, but Henderson stretches to make a great save.

54 min: Amid all the chaos I am yet to inform you that Palace made two changes at the break…

Devenny made way for Eberechi Eze, while Adam Wharton replaced Lerma.

52 min: After a VERY lengthy VAR check, Palace are officially level thanks to Mateta!

The striker passed it in after receiving a flick-on from Guehi in the box.

49 min: Mateta looks onside to me, but, of course, I’m not the one making the decisions here!

It’s fair to say the mood changed pretty quickly among the home fans!

Eric messaged in just before kick-off to say: “Hello from Pittsburgh! Such a shame that Our Beloved World Of Everton only had three days to enjoy Wednesday’s derby as the most recent memory of the Toffees on the pitch. At least this game is on the road – I think it’s a factor in Everton’s favor. Resetting the mind and playing a proper game of football after all that will be hard enough. Doing so in a different setting than Goodison, even with a hostile crowd, might help more than we realize.”

It certainly seems to be helping so far!

45+4 min: Everton break forward again as we approach half-time. Beto looks to play the ball through a gap in the disjointed Palace defence, but Lindstrøm mis-times his run before the whistle blows.

43 min: What a howler from Palace…

Mitchell takes a throw-in from Everton’s half. He throws it to Lerma, who just lets the ball run behind him, seemingly thinking a team-mate will take it. Instead, Alcaraz picks up possession and the visitors find themselves two-on-one. The midfielder plays a pass across to Beto in the middle, who slots home past a helpless Henderson.

41 min: Wow…

Richards somehow squeezes his way through at least three Everton defenders before tapping the ball to Mateta in the box. The striker plays a pass to Lerma right in front of goal, but the midfielder somehow rattles the crossbar with his shot! How did he not score?!
