The Uruguay international has struggled since joining Liverpool for €85 million in 2022 and he is now the subject of significant transfer interest amid rumours of a mid-season Anfield exit.

Nunez has only started seven Premier League matches so far this campaign and Arne Slot’s side have already identified Napoli forward Victor Osimhen as their dream replacement, according to Anfield Watch.

The Nigeria international is currently on loan at Galatasaray, but he is expected to secure a permanent transfer this summer, and Liverpool have now joined Chelsea and Manchester United in the race to sign him.

Nunez still has three-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract at Anfield, however he could leave the club in 2025 as Al-Hilal continue their push to sign him.

Darwin Nunez to join Al-Hilal in 2025?

Liverpool have set their asking price for Nunez at €100m – a fee that Al-Hilal are currently unwilling to match.

Nunez’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €45m, but Liverpool want to turn a profit on the ex-Benfica star and have demanded a transfer fee that would make Nunez the most expensive player in Saudi Pro League history.

However, Al-Hilal have now presented the 25-year-old with a contract proposal that would see him earn a weekly salary of €475,000 (£400,000), according to Anfield Watch.

Nunez currently earns a reported €166,000 (£140,000) per week at Liverpool and he therefore has the chance to substantially increase his wages if he opts to leave Anfield in order to move to Saudi Arabia this year.

The Uruguay star has scored 37 goals in 122 appearances for Liverpool and Luis Diaz has recently usurped him as Slot’s preferred centre forward.
