New Juventus signing Jonathan David will match a club record previously achieved only by Carlos Tevez and Randal Kolo Muani in the last three years if he manages to get on the scoresheet against Genoa on Sunday.

The Canada international is expected to start up front again for Juve when they take on the Grifone away from home in the second round of Serie A fixtures on Sunday.

David, who joined Juventus as a free agent after the end of his contract with Lille earlier this summer, found the net on his Serie A debut in an eventual 2-0 win over Parma last weekend.

If he scores again against Genoa on Sunday, he will become only the third player in the last 30 years to score in both of his first two Serie A matches for Juventus.

Tevez and Kolo Muani are the only two players to have achieved this feat in the last 30 years.

Coincidentally, the Bianconeri are still hard at work in an attempt to find an agreement to bring Kolo Muani back to Turin after his successful loan from PSG in the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.
