Liverpool have been warned that a deal remains in place for Mohamed Salah to accept from the Saudi Pro League.

Salah has failed to light up the Premier League in the early weeks of 2025/26 as he did last term, going on a personal record goal drought in England’s top flight in the process.

The Egypt international went seven games without netting a non-penalty goal before a blistering strike in last weekend’s 3-2 loss at Brentford, but questions remain over his form, despite manager Arne Slot dismissing any worries over the former Roma star’s form.

A new two-year deal was signed by Salah last spring, but FootballTransfers has revealed that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season. And in an update from TBR Football, it has been confirmed that a lucrative offer from Saudi remains on the table.

Salah remains the “most desired” player of the Pro League, with the player holding a personal ambition to play in the Middle East.

He would receive a salary in the region of that earned by Cristiano Ronaldo, with a reported €170 million per year on the table for the 33-year-old. Like Ronaldo, he would become an ambassador and would have rights to part-ownership of a team.

Transfer insider Graham Bailey commented: “Mo Salah and Pro League links won’t go away, but he doesn’t want them to; he will end up in Saudi Arabia one day.

“I can confirm that the Saudis’ offer to Salah is an open one; the deal is ready for him as and when he wants it.

“They are not talking to him now, and haven’t talked to him or Liverpool about a deal in January; they don’t really need to, they are ready when he is.”

Salah makes Saudi admission

Salah has admitted that there are ongoing discussions with the Pro League, even after signing his new Liverpool contract.

Speaking to On Sport while celebrating Liverpool’s Premier League triumph in May, he said: “I thought there was a good opportunity to join the Saudi League. I believed I might go there if I didn’t renew my contract with Liverpool.

“My relationship with people there [in Saudi Arabia] is still good and ongoing. There were serious negotiations to sign me.

“Liverpool fans were part of the contract renewal process – they put pressure on the management because I’ve been at the club for seven years.

“From day one, I knew they wanted me to stay.”

Liverpool supporters should enjoy Salah while he is still at the club, because Saudi Arabia is calling next summer.
