The 19-year-old, who earned his first senior Spain cap against the Netherlands during the March international break, is expected to leave Andoni Iraola’s side upon the conclusion of the 2024-25 season, and Real Madrid have identified him as a key transfer target.

Los Blancos missed out on Leny Yoro to Manchester United last summer and they are looking to rectify that blunder by completing a deal for Huijsen.

The Spaniard is also wanted by Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Chelsea, with the latter having submitted several enquiries to Bournemouth as they aim to finalise an agreement for his signature.

However, Huijsen has decided to leave England as he is keen to return to Spain, according to Sky Sport.

Furthermore, Real Madrid have reportedly identified Huijsen as a priority transfer target for the 2025 summer window, with head of recruitment Juni Calafat urging the club to sign the 19-year-old.

The Spanish giants have already spoken to Huijsen about a potential move to the Santiago Bernabeu and talks have progressed well, although Bournemouth are set to demand an eye-watering fee of €96 million (£80m) in order to sanction a sale.

Dean Huijsen responds to Real Madrid speculation

Chelsea have an “excellent relationship” with Huijsen’s camp, as per Fabrizio Romano, but the Spain international has already hinted that he would like to join Real Madrid this summer.

“It’s an honour when you hear about Real Madrid interest, I’m proud to have such a big club interested in me,” the 19-year-old admitted while on Spain duty (as per Relevo).

“It’s special for sure. My idol is Sergio Ramos, he’s a reference. For me, he’s the best centre-back in history. He has everything, he’s a legend.”
