Declan Rice could not contain his laughter when looking at old footage of his teeth – and jokingly claimed that getting them treated ‘saved his life’.
The England and Arsenal star had Invisalign treatment a few years ago, which had a transformational effect on his gnashers.
Rice, 26, revealed the personal titbit as he reminisced over his first international call-up with new England team-mates Dan Burn and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
The trio sat down together for the latest in a series called ‘England Generations’ on the national team’s YouTube channel.
Rice was called up to the Three Lions for the first time in 2019, back when he was a 20-year-old at West Ham.
He was actually off ill and sat watching TV with his dad when he learned that he had been called up in March that year.

The midfielder was treated by Dr. Kalim Sadiq at Orchard Orthodontics in London in 2021
And now, looking back at an interview from his first England camp, Rice looked back on his old look – and chompers – with comic horror.
‘Look at that!’ he said, bursting into laughter.
‘Mate, look at that barnet and the teeth. Jesus.
‘Mate, Invisalign saved my life!’
Invisalign treatment uses clear, removable aligners, as opposed to traditional metal braces, to straighten out a patient’s teeth over time.
It turns out that Rice was treated by Dr. Kalim Sadiq at Orchard Orthodontics in London in 2021.
Four years on, and the Arsenal star is still front and centre of the company’s website, with a photo of him and Dr. Sadiq accompanied by the heading: ‘We go the extra mile to make you smile.’
‘We scored a winner with Declan Rice’s smile,’ the company wrote in a social media post at the time.
Teeth-straightening treatment is not as widely covered as its more prominent cousin, the hair transplant.
Hair transplant surgery has become a favourite with footballers down the years, from Wayne Rooney, to Mohamed Salah, David Silva.
