An out-of-form and depleted Borussia Dortmund will travel to Wolfsburg for Tuesday’s DFB-Pokal clash.

Borussia Dortmund are struggling with injuries ahead of their DFB-Pokal trip to Wolfsburg on Tuesday.

“I’ve got the list with me and it’s getting longer and longer,” said Borussia Dortmund coach Nuri Sahin at the start of Monday’s press conference before going on to deliver a personnel update.

Karim Adeyemi, Giovanni Reyna, Julien Duranville, Yan Couto and Niklas Süle are all certain absentees, while Julian Ryerson, Waldemar Anton and Marcel Sabitzer are doubtful after picking up knocks in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Augsburg.

Sahin said Ryerson will undergo further examinations on Monday, “and then we’ll see how things go. I don’t have high hopes for him.”

As for Marcel Sabitzer and Waldemar Anton, the BVB coach insisted that “every hour counts”.

“Both are feeling a bit better. Whether they can play will be decided relatively close to kick-off.”

Despite the number of injuries, Sahin is reluctant to point the finger at anyone because he doesn’t see any patterns.

“If we had eight muscle injuries right now, we could talk about whether we’re doing something wrong,” he emphasized.
