Benjamin Hübner has emerged as the favorite to replace Sandro Wagner as Germany’s assistant coach.
The German Football Association (DFB) may have found a successor for Sandro Wagner, who is set to step down as Germany’s assistant coach following the UEFA Nations League Final Four in June.
According to multiple reports, Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann has identified current Hoffenheim assistant coach Benjamin Hübner as his preferred candidate to replace Wagner.
Hübner, who previously played under Nagelsmann at Hoffenheim, is reportedly keen on the job. Talks between the DFB and Hoffenheim are said to be ongoing.
Sky Germany reports that Alfred Schreuder, currently in charge of Al-Nasr in the United Arab Emirates, is also being considered, stating that an experienced assistant could be brought in alongside Hübner to support the national team setup moving forward.
