After Borussia Mönchengladbach’s 4-0 loss to Werder Bremen this evening, Kevin Diks voiced his understanding at their fans’ disappointment at Borussia-Park.

“I think [the fans’ reaction] is deserved. If you lose at home 4-0 it’s not good enough,” he told the official Bundesliga interviewer.

“I think we know that, but we have to look at ourselves in the mirror because losing like that at home shouldn’t be possible.

“I agree [we lacked aggression]. We started really well and we were pressing with the ball very good.

“But you can be as good you you want on the ball, and if you concede two early goals like this it effects your performance,” he said.

The Netherlands centre-half discussed Gladbach’s barren run in front of goal and feels their fortune might change soon.

“It’s hard to stay positive but I think we had the chances [to score]. Only the ball didn’t go in the net and that’s what it’s all about.

“I do think if one goal goes in then the rest will follow, but we need to give a little bit extra because it says a lot that we haven’t scored yet,” he explained.
