Multiple sources are reporting this evening that Milan have reached a verbal agreement with Genoa for Koni De Winter at €20m plus add-ons, with the defender accepting personal terms.
The negotiations progressed rapidly throughout the day, having first been broken by La Gazzetta dello Sport this morning.
They identified him as the ideal replacement for Malick Thiaw, who will have his Newcastle United medical tomorrow to complete a €40m transfer.
Milan dived in for De Winter

De Winter had previously been linked with Inter, Juventus and Bournemouth, but Milan came in with a deal that seemingly suited everyone.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the cost of the fixed fee is €20m, but other sources including MilanNews insist there are also add-ons.
This would fit with the general belief the asking price was around €25m.
Genoa owe his former club Juventus a cut of the fee, which is reported to be as much as 25 per cent.
Meanwhile, Genoa are expected to secure Facundo Gonzalez from Juventus as the replacement for De Winter.
