Done Deal: Estupinan to Milan for 17m plus 2m bonus

The precise figures of the agreement between Milan and Brighton and Hove Albion for Pervis Estupinan are emerging, with €17m plus €2m in add-ons proving successful.

There had already been multiple sources reporting this evening that the two clubs had shaken hands and were only working on the final details.

Now there is greater clarity provided by transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, who confirms the basic fee is €17m with a further €2m in add-ons.

The reports had suggested just under €20m, so this fits entirely with that earlier view of the situation.

Estupinan was determined to make the move and agent Jorge Mendes was working for days to reach an agreement that would suit everyone.

The Ecuador international becomes the heir to Theo Hernandez, who was sold to Al-Hilal, in the left-back role.

Brighton and Hove Albion had paid €17.8m to buy him from Villarreal in the summer of 2022.

He made 36 appearances for the Seagulls last season, contributing one goal and one assist.

An initial €15m offer was rejected, but Milan came back in with an improved proposal.
