Inter have Ange-Yoan Bonny in hand, as first reported on May 17, and could even decide to bring the Parma striker in for the Club World Cup knockout stages.

The deal was already effectively done for €25m and just needed to be formalised, with the total figure split between fixed fee and bonuses.

He was only ever heading towards the Nerazzurri, even though clubs of all kind were linked with him in the media.

Bonny to Inter was never in doubt

Despite the creative suggestions over the last few days, Inter were in pole position from the start and never lost it.

Now it is up to Cristian Chivu to decide whether or not to call Bonny over to the USA for the Club World Cup knockout stages, or give the Frenchman time to acclimatise and start pre-season training instead.

The important thing for Inter will be getting it over the finish line, which never really seemed in doubt.

Bonny joined the Parma squad in 2021 as a free agent from the Chateauroux youth team and helped them earn promotion from Serie B.

He scored six goals and provided four assists in 37 Serie A games this season.
