Jeremie Frimpong’s three-and-a-half year spell at the BayArena has come to an end.
Liverpool FC have officially announced the signing of right-back Jeremie Frimpong, both clubs have announced.
The 24-year-old right-sided defender has signed a long-term contract at Anfield Road until 2030.
Liverpool took full advantage of the €35-40million release clause in the Netherlands international’s contract.
Frimpong is expected to compensate for the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who just made the switch to Real Madrid.
The Frimpong’s sale is the third big exit from Leverkusen this summer with Xabi Alonso, and Jonathan Tah also departing. Florian Wirtz nears a move to the Reds too.
