The final full week of the 2026 January transfer window is officially here and a host of clubs across world football are now locked in negotiations over last-minute deals.
Chelsea appear to have missed out on Stade Rennais defender Jeremy Jacquet, but they are in talks over a deal for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, while Aston Villa are close to signing Tammy Abraham.
Oleksandr Zinchenko is in negotiations over a move to Ajax, Jean-Philippe Mateta wants to leave Crystal Palace and West Ham United are on the verge of selling Lucas Paqueta to Flamengo.
A host of top clubs are expected to be active in the market before the winter window closes on 2 February, despite the fact that January spending is far more limited than during the summer.
A number of high-profile deals have already been announced since the window opened on New Year’s Day, and several big transfers are set to be completed before Deadline Day.
Manchester City have already signed both Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi, Conor Gallagher has joined Tottenham Hotspur, Pascal Gross has returned to Brighton & Hove Albion and Lyon have completed the loan signing of Real Madrid forward Endrick.
Meanwhile, Brennan Johnson has signed for Crystal Palace, AS Roma have landed Donyell Malen and Robinio Vaz, and Facundo Buonanotte has joined Leeds United on loan after Chelsea terminated his temporary deal in west London.
