Gianluigi Donnarumma has agreed to move from PSG to Manchester City, according to Fabrizio Romano, who says there is just one thing standing in the way of this deal becoming a reality.

PSG goalkeeper Donnarumma has been pushed towards the exit at Parc des Princes after failing to agree a new contract with the Champions League winners, who have grown unhappy with his negotiating tactics.

The French side have therefore signed Lucas Chevallier to take the Italy international’s place, and following PSG’s 1-0 win over Angers on Friday, the former AC Milan shot-stopper waved goodbye to fans in Paris.

While there has been interest from several Premier League sides, Man City are the closest to signing the 26-year-old.

James Trafford might have rejoined the club from Burnley in the summer but was guilty of a glaring error as Pep Guardiola’s side lost 2-0 at home to Tottenham on Saturday, putting his own place in the spotlight.

And now Romano reports that Donnarumma is ready to swoop in and take the gloves from the young Englishman.

“Gigio Donnarumma has agreed on personal terms with Manchester City. He is keen on joining Pep Guardiola,” Romano tweeted.

“Negotiations are also underway between Man City and PSG. The fee will be under initial €50m request.”

However, Romano has stressed that there remains a significant hurdle to overcome before any deal can be struck to make the transfer final.

“Deal depends on Ederson’s exit this summer, with Galatasaray still keen,” he reports.

The Brazilian keeper does appear primed to leave City, where he has played since 2017, so everything is falling into place for the Etihad club to complete what might be their last big signing of the summer.
