Italy captain Gigio Donnarumma was the MOTM in PSG’s win over Liverpool on Tuesday and reacted to a Champions League quarter-final qualification with a social media message: ‘Magnificent.’

The Azzurri captain saved two spot-kicks in the penalty shoot-out against Liverpool last night, allowing the Ligue 1 giants to qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals.

Gigio hit back at criticism from French media in a post-match interview with Sky Sport Italia and then reacted to PSG’s massive victory with a post on X, formerly Twitter.

The Italian captain used the French expression “C’est Magnifique”, which means “It’s magnificent”, and added blue and red heart emojis.

Gigio posted a picture of the PSG squad hugging him after the penalty shoot-out in Anfield.

The former Milan star has kept nine clean sheets in 30 appearances with PSG this season, conceding 28 goals.

Donnarumma’s PSG contract runs out in June 2026, but he’s already in talks to sign a new deal at the Parc des Princes.
