Paris Saint-Germain are reported to be increasingly anxious at the lack of progress on a new Gianluigi Donnarumma contract, especially as Chelsea are preparing to pounce.

The Italy international joined them as a free agent from Milan in 2021 and as a result of that zero transfer fee, was rewarded with a lucrative salary.

That contract is now running down and will expire in June 2026, so there is the genuine risk of losing him for free as well.

According to RMC Sport, PSG are getting nervous about the negotiations for a new deal, realising the talks have hit a standstill.

Donnarumma continually says his first priority is to remain with Paris Saint-Germain, but he is also determined to stick with the same €12m per season salary and not accept a pay cut.

The 26-year-old was crucial in their Champions League victory and helped them reach the FIFA Club World Cup Final too, on top of the Ligue 1 and domestic trophies.

If he was to leave, then a return to Serie A is entirely possible with Inter and Juventus hovering, but RMC Sport maintain Chelsea are the most likely contenders to pick up the shot-stopper.
