According to information from Sky Germany, a “secret summit” took place yesterday evening in Dortmund regarding Nico Schlotterbeck.

At the Bundesliga club’s headquarters, sporting directors Lars Ricken and Sebastian Kehl met with Schlotterbeck’s advisor Björn Etzel.

Extending Nico Schlotterbeck’s contract, which expires in 2027, is considered Borussia Dortmund’s top priority.

The defensive leader has been hesitant so far and wants to carefully consider his decision, but BVB’s management want clarity soon.

The meeting focused on the future of the German national team player, with both sides presenting their arguments.

Dortmund intends to entice the 26-year-old to extend his contract by offering him the prospect of becoming the club’s highest earner.

Furthermore, the left-footed centre-half is also expected to become the main face of the club going forward.
