Borussia Dortmund is on the lookout for a new central midfielder, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The Black and Yellows have supposedly set their sights on Quinten Timber who is currently representing Feyenoord Rotterdam.
The broadcaster reports that Dortmund scouts were present at the stadium during their 2-0 Europa League defeat against VfB Stuttgart.
No decision has yet been made by the Westphalians as to whether a transfer of the 24-year-old will actually be pursued.
Contact with the player’s representatives is also still pending, but the midfielder’s contract expires at the end of the season.
Therefore, Timber would be available on a free transfer in the summer; although Feyenoord want to extend his contract.
Salih Özcan, who is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund sooner rather than later, is likely to free up a midfield spot in Niko Kovač’s squad.
