Douglas Luiz to return to Aston Villa

Aston Villa’s pursuit of former midfielder Douglas Luiz shall continue, as the Brazilian, currently on loan with Nottingham Forest, has informed parent club Juventus that he is desperate for a return to Villa Park. The creative midfielder is a fan favourite at Villa and the Premier League outfit are confident that an agreement can be reached before the end of the transfer window.

With 20 Premier League goals in 175 games for Villa, the Brazil international was a huge success at Villa Park and the now 27-year-old has informed his club Juventus that he wants to leave. With his best years ahead of him still, the signing of Douglas Luiz would be a major coup for the Villains.

Unai Emery had always wanted to keep the central midfielder, but the 50 million euro fee was desperately needed at that time. It is believed that Nottingham Forest will accept a payment of around £500,000 to end the loan deal early, and that Juve would be happy for Luiz to return to England with his new club for the same previous loan fee.
