Drake offered chance at ultimate Kendrick Lamar revenge after savage Super Bowl diss

FIFA chief Gianni Infantino has teased the possibility of Drake performing the halftime show at the World Cup final in a move that would pour fuel on the rapper’s feud with Kendrick Lamar.

The soccer showpiece will include a musical performance for the first time ever when the tournament comes to the United States, Canada and Mexico in 2026. 

The halftime show has long been a popular tradition at the Super Bowl and Kendrick performed this year in New Orleans.

His 13-minute cameo caused a lot of controversy as the rapper took his 13-year feud with Drake on stage. 

He performed a redacted version of his viral diss track ‘Not Like Us’, which includes lyrics labelling Drake a ‘certified pedophile’.

Next summer, the World Cup final will be held at MetLife Stadium near New York. An incredible 1.5billion people watched the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar, while the Super Bowl draws around 200million viewers worldwide.

Infantino said it was a ‘good idea’ for Drake to perform at MetLife Stadium in 2026 

FIFA has enlisted the help of Coldplay singer Chris Martin to put on the halftime show but the British band will not perform. Instead, during an appearance on Fox 5, host Rosanna Scotto suggested a controversial choice to Infantino.

‘I have a great idea for you for the halftime,’ Scotto said to Infantino. ‘Drake! Because you were at the Super Bowl — Kendrick Lamar dissed him at the Super Bowl!’

Infantino responded: ‘So we can create a bit of a rivalry?’

‘That’s a good idea,’ the FIFA president continued. ‘Actually, Drake was with us when we announced the host cities. I should have his number saved somewhere.’

Earlier this year, Drake filed a federal defamation lawsuit over ‘Not Like Us. During what some fans dubbed the ‘worst halftime show ever’, Kendrick opted not to say ‘pedophile’, telling the crowd: ‘I want to perform their favorite song, but you know they love to sue.’

He did, however, go on to deliver two other controversial lines: ‘Say Drake, I hear you like them young’ and ‘trying to strike a chord and it’s probably a minor.’
