Werder Bremen have extended the contract of Marvin Ducksch for another year, the club have announced.

A clause in the striker’s contract has enabled both the club and player to agree terms for another campaign at least.

Bremen’s head of professional football, Peter Niemeyer expressed his joy at the 31-year-old’s new deal.

“We are delighted that Marvin’s contract has been extended. It shows that he has played a lot and is extremely important to us.

“We are firmly planning on using Marvin for the coming season,” Niemeyer explained to the Deichstube newspaper.

The former BVB academy player joined Bremen in 2021 and has scored 50 goals in 120 appearances to date.
