Emile Heskey announces surprise second job as Premier League cult hero juggles Leicester women’s youth development gig with new venture

Former England and Liverpool striker Emile Heskey has landed a surprise new job as director of a Nottinghamshire-based security firm.

The 47-year-old, who has made 62 appearances for the national team, has found his new role after revealing his long-time friendship with Octavian Security founder Sukhi Ghuman.

It is understood that Heskey will combine his job with the position of head of women’s football development at Leicester City, to which he was appointed in 2021.

He said: ‘I’m delighted to finally join Octavian. The company is a real route for progression for me. 

‘I first met Sukhi at school and we’ve really worked on this relationship for the last 15 years.

‘It’s my mission to encourage more athletes into the business world to not only learn, but also share their winning mindset and help businesses grow.’ 

The 47-year-old is also the Head of Football Development at Leicester City Women since 2021

The former Liverpool striker earned 62 appearances and scored seven goals for England

Heskey enjoyed a stunning career over two decades, playing for top clubs such as Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Leicester City.

The former striker retired with 110 goals and 53 assists in the Premier League while lifting an FA Cup, UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup during his time with the Reds.

‘This is a move that has been long in the making. What we will benefit from having Emile in the business is how an elite performer can bring with them the same DNA as a winner in the corporate world,’ added Octavian founder Ghuman.

‘Emile understands from his days at the top of football that you need inner strength and determination to succeed, but that we also need to harness our skills and concentrate on our health if Octavian is going to continue to lead the way in our industry.’

The former England international has two sons – Jaden and Reigan – both playing for Manchester City’s youth teams.
