Emre Can has just one year left on his contract with Borussia Dortmund, but he’s not focusing on his future at the moment.
With Dortmund facing two Champions League quarter-final games against Barcelona and trying to fight their way into the European places in the Bundesliga, that’s not his priority right now.
“Of course everyone thinks about what might happen in the future, but it’s not a pressing topic for me at the moment. We have extremely important weeks ahead of us,” Can told Sky Germany.
“I’ve been at BVB for a long time and have always had a good relationship with our sporting director Sebastian Kehl, for example.
“The time will come when we sit down together and talk openly about the way forward. I’m very relaxed about it,” said the former Liverpool player.
Can has played for BVB since 2020. He has been the club’s captain since 2023.
