Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has provided a big injury update on Liam Delap ahead of the Champions League clash against Ajax at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have picked up three wins on the bounce and will be aiming to extend the streak when Ajax arrive in west London on Wednesday night.
Ahead of the game, Maresca was posed with plenty of questions and one of those was focused on the fitness of Delap, who has been on the sidelines since August with a hamstring injury.
In response, Maresca said that the striker is very close to returning to full training and he could be involved with the team in the next few days.
He said: “Liam is very close, he is not working with us yet, he is still out, but hopefully he can start in the next days, take part in the session with us.”
Chelsea have picked up three points from their first two Champions League games. They should be favourites to beat Ajax with home advantage.
