Erling Haaland is ‘so happy’ at Manchester City that he would jump at the opportunity to sign a new contract, according to a report.

The Norwegian sharpshooter continues to make headlines and not only for his goalscoring exploits. German media recently detailed Haaland’s future plans, revealing that he dreams of a move to LaLiga.

The former Borussia Dortmund star, who has been breaking record upon record at Man City, has spent a lot of time with his family in Spain ever since he was a child and his ambition is to eventually play in what is one of his favourite countries.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are, obviously, the only realistic destinations and both clubs would love to sign the 24-year-old. However, a move in the summer of 2025 has been deemed unrealistic, particularly as far as cash-strapped Barcelona are concerned.

Indeed, it seems that Haaland could yet stay at Man City for many, many more years to come.

Haaland open to staying – Guardiola decision key

At least that is according to GIVEMESPORT, which reports that “Haaland is so happy at the Etihad Stadium that he would be willing to commit to a longer stay.” However, his final decision will be massively influenced by the future of Pep Guardiola.

The report claims that those at Man City ‘expect’ the Spanish tactician to add at least one more year to his expiring contract to help the club put a proper succession plan in place and this, it is claimed, could make Haaland’s decision of whether or not to sign a new deal a very simple one.

If Guardiola stays, Haaland will also be more likely to stay. Man City, still embroiled in a legal battle that could threaten the club’s future, is desperate to tie down their key players to long-term deals.

The outlet further asserts that both John Stones and Rodri are expected to finalise new contracts by the end of the season as City continue to tighten their stranglehold on English football.
