EURO 2024 line-ups: Italy vs. North Macedonia

Giacomo Raspadori, Federico Chiesa and Domenico Berardi lead the attack with Jorginho pulling the midfield strings as Italy take on Eljif Elmas and North Macedonia.

The Azzurri need four points from the remaining two games against North Macedonia and Ukraine to qualify for the tournament in Germany next summer, avoiding the play-offs.

Injuries have weakened Luciano Spalletti’s side, losing the likes of Alessandro Bastoni, Giorgio Scalvini, Mateo Retegui, Manuel Locatelli, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Ciro Immobile, Rafael Toloi and Mattia Zaccagni.

Meanwhile, Napoli right-back Giovanni Di Lorenzo is suspended, so Federico Gatti steps into the otherwise all-Inter back four.

Jorginho makes his first appearance since the Nations League Final Four, with Raspadori picked as centre-forward.

North Macedonia are missing Aleksandar Trajkovski, who famously scored the late winner in the 2022 World Cup play-off semi-final against Italy.

Napoli attacking midfielder Elmas starts in a more advanced role.

Although they cannot qualify in the top two, North Macedonia did hold Italy to a 2-2 draw in September on Spalletti’s debut.
