A Europa League play-off tie between Bodo/Glimt and FC Twente descended into chaos with three goals in stoppage time, before the Norwegian side sealed a last-16 berth in extra time.
Dutch outfit Twente held a 2-1 lead from the first leg, which they extended in the 26th minute following a Fredrik Sjovold own goal.
Bodo/Glimt had renewed hope in the second after Kasper Hogh reduced the deficit from the penalty spot, before a chaotic conclusion to the match.
In the second minute of stoppage time a Bodo/Glimt cross was deflected into his own net by Twente defender Mees Hilgers.
A remarkable turnaround looked to have been completed just two minutes later, with full back Brice Wembangomo scoring a stunning driven effort from outside the box for the hosts.
Wembangomo’s effort sparked jubilant celebrations from Bodo/Glimt players and from their fans in the stands, but the joy would prove short-lived.

Sem Steijn dramatically equalised for FC Twente with the third goal scored in a five minute spell

Bodo/Glimt scored two further goals in extra-time to book their place in the round of 16
As the clock ticked over the five minutes of added time signalled by the referee, Twente stunningly forced extra-time when Sem Steijn scrambled the ball over the line from close range.
Steijn’s late equaliser prompted celebrations from the Twente bench, who were then a picture of nerves as the goal was reviewed by VAR over a possible handball before being confirmed.
The drama continued in extra-time as Bodo/Glimt sealed their place in the last-16 of the competition with two further goals.
Sondre Fet put the Norwegian’s ahead again on the night following a corner in the 111th minute.
Their place was sealed after a third own goal of the night, with Twente’s Arno Verschueren putting through his own net as Bodo/Glimt went 5-2 up on the night.
Having sealed a stunning 6-4 aggregate victory, Bodo/Glimt will be drawn against either Scottish giants Rangers or Greek outfit Olympiacos on Friday.
