Everton manager Sean Dyche was taken by surprise by a challenge from Luton midfielder Luke Berry during Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Goodison Park.

Berry, on as a substitute for Luton, accidentally clattered into Dyche while trying to win the ball.

Dyche, who is known for his love of crunching tackles, took a tumble and then got up before helping Berry to his feet.

Everton ended up being knocked out of the FA Cup, with Cauley Woodrow scoring a late winner as Luton prevailed with a 2-1 victory.

Luton had taken the lead through an own goal from Vitaliy Mykolenko before Jack Harrison managed to pull Everton level.

However, Woodrow struck late to ensure that Luton made it through to the fifth round.

The result ensures another season without a trophy for Everton, who reached the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup this campaign.

After being deducted ten points earlier in the campaign Everton are currently just outside the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Dyche’s side are in 17th place, one point above Luton, who have a game in hand.
