Arsenal have opened talks with Valencia defender Yarek Gasiorowski with a view to finalising a summer deal, FootballTransfers understands.
The 20-year-old has attracted significant transfer interest from several clubs across Europe’s top five leagues in recent months and Arsenal are ready to intensify their pursuit ahead of the upcoming summer window.
EXCLUSIVE: Nottingham Forest join race to sign Marc Guehi
FootballTransfers exclusively reported that Arsenal were set to challenge Real Madrid for Gasiorowski’s signature earlier this year and we have now been told that the Gunners have opened talks with his representatives.
Arsenal have also been linked with fellow Spaniard Dean Huijsen in recent weeks, although we understand that Mikel Arteta’s side are yet to engage in negotiations to sign the Bournemouth defender this summer.
However, by contrast, the north London giants have already discussed a move with Gasiorowski’s representatives as they look to bring a new defender to the club before the start of the 2025-26 campaign.
EXCLUSIVE: Man City face big Diogo Costa concern despite positive talks
Gasiorowski extended his contract with Valencia back in February, but his new deal is still set to expire in 2027, meaning the Spanish side could potentially be tempted into a sale if a suitable offer is lodged.
The 20-year-old was a regular at the heart of Valencia’s backline in November and December, but he has struggled for game time since the appointment of former West Bromwich Albion boss Carlos Corberan on Christmas Eve.
Gasiorowski has been an unused substitute in each of Valencia’s last 10 La Liga matches, however he remains extremely highly-rated by several clubs in Europe, including Arsenal.

Arsenal’s summer transfer plans
In addition to Gasiorowski, FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal are eager to strengthen a number of positions during the 2025 summer window.
Espanyol’s Joan Garcia has been identified as a key goalkeeper target, while we have been informed that the club are also chasing Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, Athletic Club winger Nico Williams and Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres.
