Nottingham Forest have initiated contact with Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres, with sources confirming the Premier League club has reached out to his representatives.
With Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and more taking an interest in the 26-year-old, the proposed deal is the most ambitious in Forest’s recent history.

Owner Evangelos Marinakis and manager Nuno Espírito Santo see the Sporting CP forward as the ideal long-term successor to Chris Wood, who turns 34 in December. Wood has been outstanding this season, scoring 18 goals in 29 Premier League games and helping Forest climb to third in the table.
With Champions League qualification now a real possibility, Marinakis is determined to keep pushing the club forward.
FootballTransfers understands that Gyokeres, who previously played in England with Coventry City is intrigued by the prospect of joining Forest, given their remarkable Premier League campaign.
A move to the City Ground could potentially offer him the chance to play Champions League football and be at the heart of an ambitious project aiming to re-establish Forest among England’s elite.

Gyokeres at the heart of Forest’s ambitious plans
Marinakis’ vision is clear: he wants to take Forest back to the top, and securing a marquee signing like Gyokeres would be a major statement of intent. With the summer transfer window approaching, Forest fans will be watching closely to see if the club can pull off what would be a club-record deal.
The 26-year-old forward has attracted attention across Europe for his clinical finishing and versatility in attack. Gyokeres’ impressive performances have made him one of the most sought-after strikers in the current transfer market, by scoring 28 goals in 25 matches in Liga Portugal this season.
Premier League clubs Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all registered an interest in the prolific striker. While the two London outfits have turned their attentions towards other targets, United will struggle to get a deal over the line if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Sources indicate that he is expected to be available for a transfer fee of around €58 million.
